The Person
- Proven experience in a Category Management, Buying, or Senior Merchandising role within food retail.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L for a category or range.
- Confident negotiator with established supplier relationship management experience.
- Analytical, with the ability to translate data into actionable range and pricing decisions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and presentation skills.
The Role
- Own the commercial performance of the category, including sales, margin, and stock turn.
- Lead supplier negotiations on price, terms, promotions, and new product development.
- Develop and execute range reviews in line with customer insight and market trends.
- Plan and manage promotional activity in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Monitor competitor activity and pricing to maintain a competitive position.
- Work cross-functionally with buying, supply chain, and store operations teams.
- Present category performance and plans to senior stakeholders.
